As we think about Maslow’s model for hierarchy of needs where he states that as lower needs get fulfilled higher needs arises, we might think that we have got the answer. Nevertheless, the practical evidence is not quite clear about it.

One thing is certain that richness cannot help to fulfill love and self-realization needs. When you want love, you need to give love. You cannot look for the shops of love where you can purchase it. Many a times fulfilling love needs is the hardest thing to achieve. Person who won all battles of life fails to win over love.

If human beings needs of love are not fulfilled, they go astray. There is one mistaken idea in the world that poor people indulges into crimes. Most of the times the rich exploits the physiological needs of the poor and he always directs labour of the poor towards criminal activities by providing food and shelter. Once the stomach of the poor gets fulfilled, he can immediately leave crimes. In contrast, it is hard to find the solution for changing rich people who pursuits criminal activities.

Self-realization needs painful mental surgery that no doctor of the world can carry out. It requires oneself to see all the hidden truths within oneself. Of course, rich people can have more opportunity to discover the self, but the path is so arduous that no rich person dares to walk on it.

It is a known thing that more you pursue safety, the more unsafe you are. Safety needs are most probably the most unachievable things. The reason behind it is that everyman wants to live forever and nature unfortunately never promises it. You can increase your safety level, but can never make yourself safe.

Self-esteem is the inherent human quality that develops gradually by conscious efforts of human being. Every person thinks himself of unique and of higher value and he is right in its thinking. However, to prove our self-esteem is not the baby’s play. Society may give higher respect to the rich people. But, this does not enhances any self-esteem value of human being. Self-esteem is the substance that we think about ourselves. That comes out of our experiences that we have. Self-esteem is the thought that we really have done something extra-ordinary in life that no other person has ever done before.

You may be thinking that rich may have better fulfilled physiological needs. But the evident world shows that the rich community is the most diseased community of the world. The highest revenue is spent on them and thereafter they are not able to become disease free. Obesity is the known prevalent disease in the rich community.

Obviously, it is hard to find straight relation between richness and fulfillment. Maybe in the future we will be able to make human beings fulfilled by making them richer.

Richness can lead to the material fulfilment only. But not the fulfilment of love, relation, good time of life. In fact richness sometimes drags the human being towards bad habits, like drug, alcohol, illegal sex and pride, that consequently destroys the person.

Wealth brings only temporary happiness. There is a moment of satisfaction that you get from the material things you possess. However, money can’t buy everything. Several factors are weighed to determine if you are fulfilled. Fulfillment is a general term to define. Probably, you don’t worry that much when it comes to money matters if you are rich. But too much focus on material things also leads to other complex problems. Everything in moderation is best advised.
